Frequently Asked Questions

1. Graduate Slide Photo Requirements

Your photo appears on your graduate slide as your name is called.

    Photo Must Be:

  • Headshot: Graduate only — no other people or animals
  • Attire: Business professional or regalia (no hats or sunglasses; graduation caps allowed)
  • Uniformed personnel: Follow local agency/unit guidelines for attire & insignia
  • Background: Light-colored and uncluttered (not in a car)
  • Original photo only (no screenshots)
  • Appropriate for an academic audience

Not Permitted:

  • Logos, trademarks, or brand names
  • Filters, text, or added graphics
  • Photos including animals or anyone other than the graduate
  • Important: Non-compliant photos will be cropped or removed

    Format:

  • High-resolution JPEG (Max. 7 MB. Minimum size 499 x 627 px)
  • Portrait (vertical) orientation

2. Tips for a Good Headshot:

  • Face a window – Natural light = best light
  • Frame your shot – Head and shoulders in view
  • Hold camera at eye level – Straight on, not from above/below

3. Headshot Cropping Tips:

  • Upload your full-size photo — do not crop before uploading
  • After upload, use the site tools to adjust the frame to show head and shoulders
  • Can you create a sample like below using 1 or 2 sets of these crop samples? (if doing two, do one regalia, one not regalia)

4.Edit Your Graduate Slide:

  • Edits allowed until the registration deadline date
  • Go to purdueglobal.gradpak.com
  • Enter your Student ID and Student Email Address
  • When prompted that you’ve already registered for commencement, edit your slide using the “Click Here” link
  • Update your photo and slide details
  • Click "Preview Slide" to save your changes
